Joe Henry releases his previously unheard demo ‘News From The Great Wide World’ through earMUSIC.
Today sees the release of the first digital single, ‘News From The Great Wide World’, a demo from Henry’s personal archives. ‘In a wonderfully rare and odd occurrence, I stumbled upon this demo recording of a song called ‘News From The Great Wide World’ and remembered none of it: not its melody, nor its lyrics, which presumably had set the whole endeavor in motion.’, Henry recounts.
“The title was lifted from poet Langston Hughes;” he adds, “but even that is something I recognize as opposed to it being a choice I viscerally remember making; and as such, I hear and love this now not as a self-assured performance (it is not), but for what it truly is: a song-in-progress striving for and into the shape of its own formation, while I bore witness. It is one of my favorite parts of the process, wherein I am not so much steering active creation but attending one: its doula; its faithful shepherd boy.”
Pre-Order ‘Invisible Hour’ HERE

All three reissue albums are pressed on 180g double-vinyl for the very first time and additionally made available as CD Digipak, for streaming and digital download via earMUSIC.
